I am keeping a record here of events where I hope to be appearing to sign books and meet lovely people.

At Waterstone’s in Exeter, with Huw Powell, a book signing…
5 January, 2017
On Thursday 5th January 2017 I visited St Leonard’s C of E Primary School in Exeter to talk about Malkin Moonlight. It was a particularly lovely school visit as I taught at St Leonard’s more than a decade ago. I saw my friends Katherine and Ruth who are teachers there, and then I had the joy of addressing an assembly hall full of children. The children were all from Years 5&6 and I spoke to them a little about becoming an author. They asked such intelligent and pertinent questions and were really delightful. I had such a happy experience and left with a warm glow. It was lovely to sign books for them, and it is always wonderful to meet children who have read Malkin. The novelty will never wear off. I’d like to thank St Leonard’s for inviting me. It was such a treat to stand in an assembly hall I’ve been in so many times, but this time as an author, as well as a teacher: both slightly surreal and really wonderful.
27 August 2016
Waterstone’s Exeter Cathedral Green on Saturday 27th August between 12.00 and 15.00 (midday and 3 pm) I will be signing Malkin Moonlight books. Do come if you can spare a few minutes from your shopping!
29 October 2016
I am delighted to be invited to the Chicken and Frog Bookshop in Brentwood on Saturday October 29 at 1400.
Malkin Moonlight
It’s almost Halloween, which means that there’s definitely a hint of magic in the air. And what better way to celebrate than with a wonderful author visit.
Luckily for us, award winning author, Emma Cox made the very long journey from Exeter to visit us today. The bus replacement service didn’t deter her, which we are most grateful for.
Emma’s book journey is far more interesting than her slightly disconnected experience travelling to us this afternoon. She entered Malkin Moonlight in the New Children’s Author Prize, organised by the National Literacy Trust and Bloomsbury and only went and won it!
After a lot of hard work, editing and re-editing this beautifully poetic tale, Bloomsbury published Malkin Moonlight in the summer of this year. We only hope that there will be a sequel…
If you didn’t get the chance to drop in today, never fear, as Emma has kindly signed some copies for us. There are also beautifully illustrated bookmarks up for grabs, for those of you who purchase the book.
18 July 2016
I ran a creative writing enrichment day for the pupils of Lady Seaward’s School, near Exeter. Thanks to the Head of Teaching and Learning Mrs Leanne Galloway for inviting me!
